The O-Shot®

A Regenerative Approach to Women’s Intimate Wellness

Changes in sexual function, vaginal comfort, sensitivity, lubrication, and bladder control are common—but women are often expected to accept them silently.

These concerns may develop after childbirth, hormonal changes, menopause, cancer treatment, aging, stress, pelvic-floor dysfunction, or other medical and emotional experiences. The O-Shot® offers an individualized, nonsurgical approach using platelet-rich plasma obtained from the patient’s own blood.

What Is the O-Shot®?

The O-Shot®, also known as the Orgasm Shot®, is a regenerative procedure designed to support female intimate wellness.

A small amount of blood is drawn and processed in a centrifuge to separate and concentrate the platelet rich plasma, commonly called PRP. After applying local anesthetic, the prepared PRP is carefully injected into specific areas of the clitoral and vaginal tissues following the established O-Shot® protocol.

Because the PRP comes from your own blood, it is considered an autologous treatment.

Platelets contain signaling proteins and growth factors involved in tissue repair, blood-vessel formation, and the body’s natural healing response. However, research involving PRP for female sexual and urinary concerns is still developing, and results cannot be guaranteed.

What Concerns May Be Discussed During an O-Shot® Consultation?

Women may request a consultation because they are experiencing:

  • Decreased clitoral or vaginal sensitivity
  • Difficulty reaching orgasm
  • Changes in the intensity or frequency of orgasm
  • Vaginal dryness or reduced lubrication
  • Discomfort during intimacy
  • Changes in sexual arousal
  • Mild urinary leakage when coughing, laughing, exercising, or sneezing
  • Intimate changes related to childbirth, aging, or menopause

The O-Shot® is not appropriate for every woman, and these symptoms may have several different causes. A medical evaluation is necessary before determining whether PRP treatment should be considered.

What Happens During the Procedure?

The O-Shot® appointment generally includes:

  1. Reviewing your medical history, symptoms, medications, expectations, and treatment goals.
  2. Drawing a small amount of your blood using a dedicated collection kit.
  3. Processing the blood to prepare platelet-rich plasma.
  4. Applying a topical or local anesthetic to support comfort.
  5. Injecting the PRP into targeted intimate tissue according to the treatment protocol.
  6. Providing individualized aftercare instructions.
The appointment is performed privately, with discretion and respect for your comfort.

Recovery and Possible Side Effects

Most patients can return to their usual activities shortly after treatment. Temporary effects may include:

  • Tenderness or soreness
  • Swelling
  • Bruising
  • Spotting
  • A sensation of pressure or fullness
  • Temporary changes in sensitivity
  • Mild discomfort at the blood-draw or injection sites

Less common risks may include infection, bleeding, altered sensation, urinary symptoms, scar tissue, or an unsatisfactory result. Your individual risks and aftercare instructions will be reviewed during the consultation and consent process.

When Might Results Be Noticed?

Every woman responds differently. Some patients report changes relatively soon, while others may notice gradual changes over several weeks as the tissue response develops.

The degree and duration of improvement vary. Some women may experience little or no meaningful change, and additional treatment may be considered depending on the response and underlying concern.

The O-Shot® is not guaranteed to increase desire, produce orgasm, eliminate urinary leakage, or correct every cause of sexual discomfort.

Intimate Wellness Is More Than One Procedure

Sexual wellness is influenced by many interconnected factors, including:

  • Estrogen, testosterone, and other hormones
  • Pelvic-floor strength and coordination
  • Menopause or vaginal tissue changes
  • Medications and medical conditions
  • Blood flow and nerve function
  • Emotional safety, stress, and relationship factors
  • Previous pain, trauma, or negative sexual experiences

PRP may support the body’s regenerative response, but it does not replace appropriate hormonal evaluation, pelvic-floor therapy, gynecologic care, counseling, trauma-informed therapy, or other medically necessary treatment.

When indicated, Nurse Julieth may recommend that you speak with the appropriate healthcare professional for additional evaluation.

What Does the Research Say?

Early studies have reported possible improvements in certain measures of sexual function, vaginal wellness, or stress urinary incontinence following autologous PRP treatment. However, the available studies are generally small, use different PRP preparations and treatment methods, and do not yet provide definitive evidence for every proposed benefit.

A 2023 systematic review concluded that the available evidence was not sufficient to clearly establish that PRP improves female sexual dysfunction or stress urinary incontinence. More rigorous, controlled studies are needed.

The O-Shot® should therefore be presented as an elective regenerative treatment with evolving evidence—not as a guaranteed cure or a replacement for established medical care.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the procedure painful?

A topical or local anesthetic is used to help minimize discomfort. Patients may still experience temporary pressure, sensitivity, or mild soreness.

Is there downtime?

Downtime is usually limited, but recovery varies. You will receive instructions regarding exercise, intimacy, bathing, and other activities after the procedure.

Is the O-Shot® hormonal?

No. PRP is prepared from your own blood and does not contain estrogen or testosterone. Hormonal changes can still contribute to intimate symptoms, so a separate hormonal evaluation may be recommended.

Is the O-Shot® FDA-approved?

The O-Shot® is not an FDA-approved treatment specifically for female sexual dysfunction, orgasm difficulties, vaginal dryness, or urinary incontinence. PRP is prepared from a patient’s own blood, but its use for these intimate-wellness concerns is considered an elective and evolving application.

Can the O-Shot® treat emotional trauma?

No. PRP does not treat psychological or sexual trauma. Women affected by trauma should receive appropriate trauma-informed professional care. Regenerative treatment may be considered only as one part of a broader, individualized wellness plan when medically appropriate.

Will it guarantee better orgasms?

No. Some patients report improved sensation or sexual response, but individual outcomes vary and no particular result can be promised.
