Glow IV aftercare: what to do in the first 48 hours

I’m based in Gilbert, AZ, in Central Gilbert near E Warner Rd and S Gilbert Rd, just north of Loop 202 and close to the Gilbert Heritage District.

Glow IV aftercare: what to do in the first 48 hours after treatment in Gilbert AZ

The most important rule after a Glow IV is simple: hydrate and take it easy for the first 48 hours. Glow IV is a 30-minute IV vitamin drip that combines my Focus blend with high-dose vitamin C and glutathione, and your body does best with steady fluids and a calm recovery window. In Gilbert’s desert heat, that hydration piece matters even more, especially if you’re in and out of the sun.

The first 30–60 minutes and the first 48 hours: the rules that actually matter

Quick recap: Drink extra fluids, skip alcohol, avoid heavy workouts, keep the IV site clean and dry, and stay away from heat like saunas, hot tubs, and long hot showers.

Right after your drip

For the first 30 to 60 minutes, I want you seated and monitored. If you feel dizzy, flushed, unusually anxious, or just “off, ” let me know immediately so I can respond on the spot. Most people feel totally fine, but I’d rather you speak up early than try to push through.

The first 24–48 hours at home

  • Hydrate more than usual. Water is great. An electrolyte beverage is also fine, especially in Gilbert’s heat or during September monsoon humidity swings when you can lose fluids without noticing.
  • No alcohol for at least 24 hours, ideally 48. Alcohol dehydrates you and can cancel out the “refreshed” feeling you’re trying to get from IV hydration.
  • Skip strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Light movement like an easy walk is usually fine if you feel good, but heavy lifting or high-intensity classes can leave you more dehydrated than you think.
  • Avoid heat exposure: saunas, hot tubs, long hot showers, and intense sun. Heat plus dehydration is the most common combo that makes people feel run-down after an otherwise smooth IV.
  • Keep the injection site clean and dry for 24 hours. And try not to wear tight sleeves that rub over the area.

If you’re running errands near SanTan Village or heading toward the Gilbert Heritage District after your appointment, just keep a water bottle with you and don’t plan a sweat-heavy workout right after. Glow IV is meant to be low downtime. The aftercare keeps it that way.

Days 3–7: protecting your glow in Gilbert sun and heat

Glow IV is designed to support antioxidant defenses, cellular wellness, and healthy-looking skin, hair, and nails from within. That “inside support” still benefits from smart outside choices for the rest of the week.

Keep hydration steady for several days, not just the day you come in. In our Gilbert weather, it’s easy to underestimate fluid loss. If you spend time outside, reapply SPF and aim for shade when you can. Heat and sun don’t erase the benefits of an IV, but they can make your skin look more tired and dehydrated, which is the opposite of what you’re going for.

I also recommend staying mindful with workouts that leave you depleted. If you want to return to your regular routine after 24 hours, do it, but listen to your body. Add fluids before and after, and don’t stack a hard workout with a long hot shower or sauna session.

Normal timing: Many people notice mild fatigue, a boost in energy, or improved skin tone within about 24 to 72 hours. It’s also normal to have a little soreness or a small bruise at the IV site.

IV vitamin drip aftercare habits that keep results consistent

I’m not going to hand you a 12-step routine. The basics work, especially right after a drip.

Hydration that actually “counts”

Water throughout the day tends to feel better than chugging at night. If you’re prone to headaches or you sweat a lot, add an electrolyte drink once a day for a day or two.

Skin protection in the desert

Use SPF when you’re outdoors and reapply it. Heat and sun can make your skin look dry and uneven, even if you’re doing everything else right.

Sleep and food basics

A solid night of sleep and regular meals help your body respond well. Think steady protein, produce, and enough salt and fluids to match the weather and your activity.

When to reach out after Glow IV (and when it’s urgent)

Mild bruising, a little tenderness, or a small bump at the IV site can happen. A cold compress usually helps, especially in the first day. Keep the area clean and dry for 24 hours, and avoid tight clothing over that arm.

Reach out right away or seek urgent care if you have severe pain, fever, swelling that worsens, spreading redness, breathing difficulty, or any signs of an allergic reaction.

If you’re unsure, I’d rather you ask. I keep this easy for my clients coming in from Chandler, Mesa, Queen Creek, Phoenix, Tempe, and San Tan Valley. And if evenings or weekends are what you need, I aim to keep scheduling flexible so aftercare questions do not turn into delays.

Glow IV aftercare FAQs I hear all the time

How long should I avoid exercise after a Glow IV?

I generally recommend avoiding strenuous exercise for 24 hours. Light movement is usually fine if you feel good. If you do go back to your normal workout after that first day, hydrate before and after and skip extra heat like saunas or long hot showers.

Can I drink alcohol after my Glow IV treatment?

I recommend skipping alcohol for at least 24 hours, and 48 hours is even better. Alcohol pulls water out of your system, which is the opposite of what you want right after an IV hydration and vitamin drip.

When will I notice results from a Glow IV?

Many people notice changes within 24 to 72 hours. You might feel a steady energy lift, notice your skin looks a bit more refreshed, or feel less run-down. Timing can vary based on hydration, sleep, and how much heat or sun exposure you’ve had that week.

Can I fly or travel after receiving a Glow IV?

Usually, yes. I suggest you keep it simple for the first day: hydrate, avoid alcohol, and skip heavy workouts. If you’re flying, bring water and consider an electrolyte drink since travel tends to be dehydrating.

What should I do if my IV site becomes swollen or bruised?

A small bruise or mild swelling can happen. Use a cold compress, avoid rubbing the area, and keep it clean and dry for 24 hours. If swelling worsens, redness spreads, you develop fever, or pain becomes severe, reach out right away or seek urgent care.
